As we anticipated, the voting presence for the second local poll, especially in Bucharest, has been lower than for the first poll. So, in the capital, the mayors of the 5 districts have been elected by 30% of the people having this right. That was a small presence, a very small one, and the ones not present voted against the politicians. It is for sure that the PD-PNL Alliance had a flawless victory in the battle for Bucharest. This is the result of a settled vote, a vote against PSD or, we can also say, a vote for the PD-PNL Alliance. Now, like in the year 200, when the PSD candidates where elected as mayors, the people voted the political party, not the candidates. Even though some of the PD-PNL Alliance candidates were remarked, like Anca Boagiu, they lost. If she wouldnât have been present at any of the debates or confrontations, and stood home, she would have certainly won. We can also say that the half of the victory belongs to Traian Basescu. Through him the Alliance wanted to have the General City Hall, the General Council, the district mayors and they got that from the citizens of Bucharest because he knew he had to say that from the beginning. The PD leader acted as a brood hen with chicks to the Allianceâs candidates, and he did that before the first poll. In the meantime the
PSD candidates have been like some cuckoo chicks without a brood hen. If the PD-PNL victory in Bucharest will strengthen the Alliance, it is a possibility that PSD would put this smarting defeat on the political vote and thatâs it. And this would be really big mistake.
Besides that, PSD, even if they won in Craiova, Ploiesti, Galati or Iasi, they have lost in Cluj, the place where the match of the matches, between the Party in Power and the Opposition, took place. Thatâs a result that also says a lot.
