The company expects turnover to go up by 8% from last year's 2.7 million euros The Cluj-based Tehnofrig company, a manufacturer of equipment for the food and refrigerating industry, this year expects to witness growth in turnover by approximately 8 percent from the 2.7 million euros posted last year.
"This is a slight increase, primarily relying on the development of the customer portfolio and on the higher number of orders from the foreign market," Pompiliu Caloianu, general manager of Tehnofrig, told ZF Transilvania.
He also said exports currently account for about 75 percent of total turnover, with the Netherlands and more recently France as the main destinations for export.
"Starting this month, we will work with a French firm operating in the food industry, to which we will deliver three heavyweight silos for product storage," specified Caloianu. He chose not to offer any details on the name of the French company, but stated the value of the contract was around 150,000 euros. The main customer of Tehnofrig on the domestic market is European Drinks.
Last year, Tehnofrig launched the stock production of scissor lifts for vehicles that are sold to car servicing centres. In order to start production on this segment, the Cluj-based company invested around 300,000 euros.
According to company management, this segment accounts for around 6 percent in turnover, with the products being sold only on the domestic market.
"We estimate we will sell at least 100 lifts this year," stated the general manager of Tehnofrig. He declined to offer details related to future company investment projects, but specified the projects would target technological development and the rising product competitiveness.
"The market of lifting installations has witnessed considerable growth over recent years, mainly driven up by foreign investments car
