It could seem bizarre, but, recently, I have become one of the main concerns of Mr. Marean Vanghelie, even if I am not the 5th District. I am not going to put his opinions to the issue since they are all based on the freedom of speech, which I respect. However, I cannot stand aside when Mr. Vanghelie starts rewriting history. Or, should I say, retelling it.
The other day, during a TV show, the Mayor from the 5th District said "Nastase destroyed" Iliescu at the Congress and Geoana stood him up, because Geoana is not a marionette. During the previous Congress, the one in 2004, we all attended the moment when Ion Iliescu, the Romanian President at that time, was invited to re-become the party president at the end of his mandate. Of course, this needed the vote of another Congress, but I agreed with this invitation, as well as Marean Vanghelie, Mircea Geoana and many others. How could I run against the "candidacy" we had all accepted?
SDP was misdirected after the elections in 2004 and one of the reasons for which Iliescu lost, was the fact he didnât agree with the candidacy of Miron Mitrea for the General Secretary of the party.
If we take a look on the present statements, we could think everyone, except Nastase, voted for Iliescu in 2005. Why are certain leaders afraid of saying they had voted for Geoana? It doesnât take so much courage after all, because Geoana is the present leader. Why is M
