Vodafone Romania's service revenue increased by 31% to 630.5 million US dollars, over the first half of the 2006-2007 fiscal year, which concluded on September 30.
The company has also reported that the number of its customers rose by 29% over the period, to 7.15 million.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 28%, to 322.6 million dollars in April-September, against the corresponding period of last year, reads a press release issued by the company.
EBITDA amounted to 172.8 million dollars over the July-September quarter.
Furthermore, the press release also reveals that the company recorded an EBITDA margin of 49.2% during the first half of the fiscal year, which concluded in September 2006, and 50% over the last quarter.
The company has reported that, during this period, Vodafone Romania increased its customer base to a total of 7.155 million people, adding 771,571 new clients since late March, and a further 420,323 customers in the July-September quarter.
Prepaid card users account for 66.4% of the company's subscribers.
The average monthly revenue per user (ARPU) amounted to 15.92 dollars over the July-September period, 4.9% higher as compared to the previous quarter.
Vodafone Romania subscribers totalled 3.932 million minutes in calls over the first fiscal half year, registering 2.059 million minutes over the July-September period.
Vodafone's main competitor on the domestic mobile telephony market is Orange Romania whose customer base numbered 7.493 million clients in late September.
