Elba, the Timisoara-based lighting products manufacturer, has posted a turnover worth 21.6 million euros (71.5 million-RON) for the first six months of the year, an increase of 31% against the same period last year. The company's management estimates its turnover for the second half of the year will be similar to the first half's figures.
"The development of the constructions industry, as well as an increase in the volume of Dacia Logan sales were the main factors that contributed to this trend in the financial indicators," Fidelio Iancu, business promotion manager of Elba Timisoara told ZIARUL FINANCIAR.
The management of the company has estimated a turnover growth rate of 12% for this year and expects to reach 40 million euros. However, the performance registered in the first half has made Elba revise its estimates upwards. "The forecasts in early 2007 were more reserved, because we did not exactly know what to expect back then, after accession to the EU. We also did not estimate the extent of fluctuations in the exchange rate, and the growth in euros is higher at the moment than the growth in RON," added Fidelio Iancu.
The company plans to conduct investments worth around 4.5 million euros this year in order to develop and modernise production facilities, with the projects being self-funded.
