Robert Mugabe, the strongman who has been ruling Zimbabwe since 1980, has criticized Romania as part of a larger group of EU member states for the isolation policy applied to his country. Mugabe has been harshly criticized by German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the EU-Africa summit, while the African leader answered back with criticism of Italy, Spain, France, Greece, Belgium, Austria, Romania and Finland for not jumping in his defense.
According to Zimbabwean media, Mugabe had a much harder attitude towards Merkel, whom he called a Nazi. He also said politicians in Sweden, Germany, Netherlands and Denmark of speaking only what British PM Gordon Brown orders.
