Spanish company Bamesa, Ford's metal sheet provider, intends to open a factory in the neighboring area of the future Ford production facility, said the Dolj County Local Council president, Ion Prioteasa. "The company works metal for Ford, in Spain and in other countries as well. They opened a factory at Topoloveni and they want to do the same thing in Craiova as well", Prioteasa said.
The company is in search for a 4 - 6 hectares lot. Officials already visited locations in Craiova and neighboring cities - Filiasi and Segarcea.
After meeting officials of the Spanish Embassy, Prioteasa announced that several companies are interested in 8,000 hectares for agriculture and in an industrial park. The Dolj County governor, Silviu Dumitru, mentioned that other Ford providers are interested as well in investing in the region.
