The main indexes of the Bucharest Stock Exchange - BVB improved during the Tuesday trading following important losses on Monday, while Romanian currency leu (RON) improved slightly against the euro after a considerable fall the day before.
BET-C, the main BVB index gained 1.32% on Tuesday to 5,157.71, while BET, the index reflecting the top ten shares, improved 1.91% to 7,344.65 points.
BET-FI, covering the five financial investment societies, reported the highest growth - 0.44% to a level of 56,527.42. Most traded were Petrom shares with trading amounting to 3.72 million RON, followed by SIF Oltenia and SIF Moldova with 3.56 million and 3.27 million RON respectively. Transylvania Bank and BRD-Groupe Societe Generale also performed well.
Meanwhile, Romanian currency RON reported an improved rate against the euro on Tuesday with 3.7418 RON/euro, recovering almost 0,02 RON of the Monday losses. RON won 0.5% against the euro from a Monday rate of 3.7608 RON/euro.
The RON also gained 0.76% against the US dollar to 2.3662 RON/USD on Tuesday.
