Senator Roberto Calderoli, former Reforms Minister in the Italian government, made a few comments for the Italian daily La Stampa, discussing the Romania - Italy football game, scheduled to take place on Friday night. Member of a right-wing party, Calderoli sees the game through its political implications: "Romania? We'll let them win, but only if they take back their gypsies. I would like to see Italy winning, but only for Donadoni, who is from Bergamo, just like me", said the senator.
It is not the first blunder the politician makes. In 2006, after Italy won in front of France the World Championship finals, Calderoli said that "it's a shame that France sacrificed its identity to adopt Muslims, Blacks and Communists".
