Approximately 40% of the Ferrari models sold on the Romanian market are leased, according to the officials of Forza Rossa, the Italian carmaker's importer on the domestic market.
"So far, Forza Rossa has delivered 15 Ferrari models domestically since it started its operations (last spring i. e.). Around 40% of the models sold in Romania are purchased in a leasing system, through Afin Leasing IFN company," stated Roxana Valcu, a communications manager with Forza Rossa.
In 2008, Ferrari importer will deliver around 14 cars on the domestic market, while in Romania there are more than 70 cars produced by the Italian company. According to previous statements by Luca di Montezemolo, Ferrari's chairman, the company's sales in Romania will rise to over 30 units per year in three-four years.
Customers opting for leasing, acquire the car over a five-year period, with a 20% down payment. Depending on the model, the monthly instalment ranges between 2,900 euros for a F430 with a price of 170,000 euros, VAT not included, and 3,800 euros in the case of a Scaglietti 612, or 599 GTB Fiorano, which have a starting price of more than 200,000 euros. The residual value of a Ferrari is of 30%, compared with 20% in the case of series cars.
The occupancy rate of Forza Rossa service shop currently stands 100%, according to the company's officials, in the context where 60% of this year's turnover of 3 million euros will be generated by service activities.
"Since the official opening of May 7, 2008, 14 Ferrari cars have entered the service shop, with requests being related to periodical check-ups and various repairs," said Valcu.
