Orange Romania, the biggest mobile telephony operator on Romanian industry in terms of number of users of France Telecom, has registered major growth in mobile data subscriptions segment and 15% of the activations are complete laptop and internet offers
“The sale of complete laptop and internet offers represents 15% of overall Orange’s sales of broadband mobile data. Sale of subscriptions with mobile data and notebook computers started to grow at fast pace together with the implementation of Asus models within Orange’s offer” Bogdan Rauta, Mobile Data Proposition Manager Orange Romania stated for Wall-Street.
The company representative says the company hopes that the upside path will continue in the fourth quarter of this year as well, once the new models will be launched and generalized growth of notebook computers market.
In the last month, the operator registered tenfold bigger mobile data traffic compared to January this year.
“Data consumption registered an all-time high in Orange: sales of complete laptop and internet packs soared tenfold in the last month compared to January 2008” said Thierry Millet, Orange Romania Chief Commercial Officer stated.
According to him, the operator forecasts positive mobile data consumption growth rates in the final quarter of the year.
At the moment, Orange’s notebook computers portfolio includes 5 models, and in October, the company will add the 5 new models that were previously announced: Asus EeePC 1000H, HP Compaq 6720s, Acer Aspire 5735Z, Asus Pro52L and Dell Studio 1535.
According to latter quarterly earning report, Orange Romania registered in Q2 EUR 321 million, up 8,8% compared to similar interval of 2007, and clients’ portfolio enhanced 18% from first half last year.
Mobile telephony company has 1,129,000 clients on broadband mobile data, 135% more than H1 last year.
