The Serb Milorad Cavici, the Olympic vice champion at 100 m butterfly, came to Galaţi for his secret lover, a volley-ball player
The swimmer Milorad Cavici assisted from the stand at the match Metal Galaţi-Unic Piatra-Neamţ, from Division A1 at feminine volley. The Serb became famous after he was very close to overcome Michael Phelps in the Olympic final from Beijing, race which lost dramatically, only at a hundredth second, just because he touched too slowly the sensor from the finish.
Cavici refused to give any explanation with respect to the reason he is in Galaţi, but sources from Galati team entourage assert that his presence is motivated by a relationship with one of the volley-ball players from Serbia who plays at Metal. More than that, Cavici would even change the place of training at Brăila in order to be closer to his love. The coach from Metal, the Serb Zoran Terzic, explained with discretion, the swimmer presence in Galaţi: "We have very beautiful girls in the team!".
The only player whom the swimmer talked after the match, for only a few seconds, was Ivana Djerisilo. Djerisilo who is an essential component of Serbian national team, where the coach is Terzici, was not part of the lot at the Saturday match, Cavic’s appearance could be a good explanation. "We have clear rules at the club and who doesn’t respect them leaves the team", said Terzici about his player, married with the former handball player Boris Stankovici.
He swam at Brăila
Milorad Cavici arrived also to Brăila, where he trained for two days in the Olympic pool in the town. "The Olympic vice champion from Beijing was indeed at the pool because he didn’t want to interrupt the training. I hope he felt good. I knew that he came to Romania to see his lover", said Ştefan Iamandi, the secretary general of the Romanian Federation of Natation. But
