Two Romanian offenders were take into custody by the Irish Police after being chased down and apprehended by a group of citizens in the city of Dundalk. 24-year old Craciun Covaci was sentenced to 18 months in jail.
Along with an 18-year old Romanian girl, Covaci placed several credit card cloning devices in ATMs. The citizens were first intrigued by the fact that the machine didn't work, although it looked all right, then noticed that the ATMs were unusually clean and somehow different and, in the end, one of the clients noted the two Romanians hanging around and acting suspicious.
One of the clients called the Police, but the Romanians managed to take back the cloning device and fled. Several people started the chase and eventually apprehended the two.
