The elected US president, Barack Obama, asked the American Congress to adopt as soon as possible the second plan for the economy rescue, making a "down payment", international press agencies inform.
In Obama's opinion, the Congress should "pass at least a down payment on a rescue plan that will create jobs, relieve the squeeze on families, and help get the economy growing again".
"Even as we dig ourselves out of this recession, we must also recognize that out of this economic crisis comes an opportunity to create new jobs, strengthen our middle class, and keep our economy competitive in the 21st century", Obama said, according to AFP.
