Romania president Traian Basescu said on Friday that he kept his promise, made earlier this week - when he said he would change his German limousine for a Romania-made Dacia Logan and he would only buy Romanian products. "I bought Romanian products and it was easy to find it. It's a lie, what they say on the TV, that 80% of the products in supermarkets are foreign. Over 80% of the products are Romanian", said Basescu.
The head of state paid a visit on Friday to the UPETROM Ploiesti company and will also visit the Nokia factory in Jucu, Cluj county, as well as the Mechel steel wire plant in Campia Turzii.
President Basescu visited this week some of the main companies around the country, including the Renault-owned car producer Dacia Pitesti, the chemical plant at Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea and the Ford car producing factory at Craiova, in order to discuss possible solutions to rise above the crisis.
