Cumpăna village mayor has stated that this project is welcome, knowing that since July there will be no cesspits.
Cumpăna will soon have a complete system of waste management.
According to mayor Mariana Gâju, the implementing of this project having European financing, called "Selective collection and building of a sorting station in Cumpăna village" is very appropriate now that the government will close all cesspits which do not conform to European regulations, starting from July, this year. "Together with this acquisition, we will also start fighting to close the cesspit. It's very hard work to teach some people to deposit waste in proper places. After 17th of July, we will not be allowed any more to deposit waste in the cesspit near our village", said the mayor Mariana Gâju. Those who will not conform and will keep throwing garbage all over the place will risk to be fined.
According to the representative of Cumpăna local administration, until the selective collecting system is operational, the garbage will be stocked in the ecological cesspool in Costineşti.
Practically, the investment consists of building 37 places for selective collection in the village, acquiring 163 containers with 1.1 m3 capacity and 37 containers with 0.66 m3 capacity. The containers will have separate destinations, for each type of waste: glass, plastic/metal, paper/board, wood/textiles, non-recyclable waste. The project also includes the acquisition of two self-compactors of 12 m3 and 18 m3 capacity. Nevertheless, the project takes in the building and the operation of a sorting station of low capacity.
The total value of the project is 916,138.43 Euros.
