Alexander Theobald, who to date heads the company sector Ringier Romania/Hungary, is leaving the company, an official press release of the group reads. Ringier owns in Romania daily newspapers Evenimentul Zilei and Libertatea, as well as the weekly business magazine Capital and other publications. The general managers in Romania, Marius Hagger, and Hungary, Attila Mihok, will answer directly to Christian Unger, CEO of the Ringier group.
The reasons for Theobald's leaving remained undisclosed. Alexander Theobald joined the Ringier team in 1995, as editorial manager of a Swiss publication. In 2002, he took over the management of the Tamedia group of magazines and became manager of the Ringier magazines division in 2003. In 2007, after Thomas Landolt left Ringier Romania, Theobald took over the management of the Ringier operations in Romania and Hungary.
