The event organised by the Ministry of the Environment starts on 1 st of June in Piaţa Constituţiei [Constitution Square] and ends on 6 th of June, on the Environment Regatta on the sea coast.
"The week of the Environment" will be closed by an unconventional race for ecological means of transportation, that is bicycles and sailing ships and the route will be Mangalia - Constanţa. All these activities will mark the Environment Day, celebrated every year on 5th of June. During the environment week, in the Constitution Square in Bucharest, a huge tree, chalk coloured, will be drawn on the pavement by pupils. The activity is being carried on simultaneously in 18 counties in Romania. There will also be a 35 meter long letter, written by children and addressed to the former vice-mayor of Constanţa, Nicolae Nemirschi, which will be exposed on the ministry's building.
