Romania's average salary, after tax, registered a slight increase of 6 lei to 1,408 lei compared to last month due to the bonus offered on Easter, Romanian National Statistics Institute reads. In March, the average salary after tax was 1,402 lei, a 3.2% increase compared to February.
In April the average, before tax, salary was 1,930 lei. In most economic sectors the average after tax salary registered a slight increase compared to March. Thus, the average salary, after tax increased by 16.7% in the financial sector and by 16.6% in the electrical energy, gas, AC sectors.
However, there were significant decreases in the average salary,after taxes, compared to the previous month: in education, in April the average salary decreased by 13.9% and by 10.1% in the public administration.
