Cristian Popa (photo), the head of InBev Romania brewer’s operations has announced that after serving the company for six years, he resigned, being replaced by Cristian Spuza.
“As of mid July this year, the new sales director of InBev Romania is Cristian Spuza, who served the company as CFO and trade marketing manager. For the vacant position of CFO, InBev Romania has began the recruitment process”, said the company.
Prior to joining InBev, Popa, aged 41, worked for companies such as JTI, Stimorol and Procter & Gamble. He started his professional career in 1992 as sales representative at JTI, and later on, he served as sales director of Stimorol.
In 1995, he joined Procter & Gamble’s sales team as key account manager, and four years later he was promoted as sales manager. He takes up trade marketing manager position Balkans, heading the brewer’s in-store marketing operations in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Moldova, Albania and Macedonia.
Since 2003, Popa was appointed sales director of InBev.
The world’s largest brewer Anheuser – Busch Inbev said at the end of June that it would open bidding for 11 central and eastern European breweries, including the one in Romania, with at least five private equity firms considering bidding, Reuters said.
