Romanian media mogul Adrian Sarbu was named on Tuesday President and Executive Director of the Central European Media Enterprise (CME), Romanian news agency Mediafax informs. Sarbu becomes the Romanian to occupy the highest position in a multinational company.
Central European Media Enterprise operates 18 television channels in seven countries in Central and Eastern Europe - Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Ukraine covering over 97 million viewers.
In 2008 CME earned some 1 billion dollars and registered an operational profit of 340 million dollars.
