Walt Disney Company has scheduled for September 19 the official launch in Romania of the kid-driven family channel Disney Channel, resulted after re-branding Jetix channel.
Disney, the television network specialized in television programming for children aged 2 to 5 and 6 to 14 respectively will broadcast shows such as Hannah Montana, cartoon series such as Phineas and Ferb, as well as its original series High School Musical and Camp Rock.
The channel will also include a programming block for pre-schoolers called Playhouse Disney Block which includes shows such as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Handy Many. The programs will be dubbed.
“Our programs present a major interest to kids and family across the world and I am pleased that Romanian viewers will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique combination of animation, live action and original series specific to Disney Channel”, said Maciej Bral, vicepresident and managing director Disney Channels, Central and Eastern Europe, South Africa and Middle East.
In December, Disney sealed agreement for full takeover of Jetix Europe. Prior to this transaction, Disney had been controlling 70% equity of Jetix Europe.
