Romania recorded in July the lowest rhythm of industrial production shrinkage in the EU, namely 4.5% against the same period last year, according to Eurostat data. In July, the Industrial production dropped in all EU member states, except in Ireland, where it recorded a 7.1% plus.
The most significant drops wee recorded in Estonia (-27.9%), Finland (-24.2%), Slovenia (-20%) and Luxembourg (-19.9%), while in Romania (-4.5%), Poland (-4.6%), Netherlands (-8%) and Portugal (-8.3%) saw the lowest decreases.
At the EU level, the industrial production shrank by 14.7%, while in the euro zone, the drop was 15.9%.
Eurostat data show that in the EU, the level of short-term use goods contracted by 1% against the same month of last year. The energy production decreased by 6.2%. The intermediary goods production dropped by 19.4% and the long-term use goods production went down 18.7%. The biggest drop - 21.9% - was experienced by the fundamental goods production.
