Kentucky Fried Chicken opened this week its fourteenth restaurant in Bucharest, following an investment of around €700,000, the fast food company said.
This is the 34th restaurant of KFC’s chain in the country and third opened this year. “The €700,000 investment is based on sales estimated at €1.5 mln annually”, said the company.
The opening of a new restaurant that will be located on Dacia bld will create 40 new jobs. The company said it had signed other agreements for new units both in Bucharest and across the country.
Last year, KFC invested over €3.5 mln in network expansion. In 2008, the fast food company opened 8 new restaurants, 3 of which in Bucharest (KFC Beldiman, KFC Liberty Center and KFC Baneasa Shopping City) and in Arad, Targu-Mures, Suceava, and Constanta.
KFC Romania reported sales of €40.5 million in 2008, 25% more than a year earlier. The local franchisee is US Food Network SA.
The first KFC restaurant was opened in 1996.
