Romania's national team has won Gold at the World Fancing Championship taking place in Antalya, Turkey, after beating Italy 45-44 in a dramatic confrontation, Romania news agency Mediafax reports.
Formed of Rares Dumitrescu, Tiberiu Dolniceanu, Cosmin Hanceanu si Florin Zalomir, Romania's team won gold medals at the sword competition.
Italy was in lead much of the time, but Romania recovered with Rares Dumitrescu who equaled against Aldo Montano at 43, then led 44-43, lost a point to Montano just to win the decisive point at 45.
