Barroso declared that the comment is an insult to both the person and the country and does not respect the non-discrimination principle. He added that such a though countervails EU values.
Barroso declared that Ciolos was by far the most competent candidate and his CV alone can talk for itself. He explained that Ciolos worked all his life in this sector.
Ciolos will not receive an easy mandate, considering the debate on reforming the Common Agricultural Policy and the debate to reduce direct payments funds.
