Romanian Presidential Election Final confirmed once again that the inhabitants from the Black Sea coast are consistent.
On the coast, the second round of the presidential election, from Sunday, brought the candidate supported by Democrat-Liberal Party (PD-L), Traian Basescu, a clear victory over his counter candidate from Social Democratic Party (PSD), Mircea Geoana.
PNL or PSD traditional constituency from Constanţa County didn't accept to support coming true the great dream of the coalition made between the two rounds.
The one who jumped up ad down as a kindergarten child, president according to exit polls, didn't convince the electors from Constanţa to give him the president mandate.
At county level 385.795 (61.41%) citizen reported to the polls and clearly decided: 204.433 (53.63%) -Traian Băsescu and 176.747 (46.36%) - Mircea Dan Geoană.
A analysis over localities showed the way citizens from Constanţa County voted and brought to light the fact that party duties aren't always obeyed, that appearances are deceiving and that in the voting booth each individual is sovereign.
Geoană, obvious looser in urban areas
Among the 12 towns and cities from the county, PSD candidate, who had multiple political support managed to obtain first place only in one town and one city.
In the first 2 towns of the county, by area and number of voters, Constanţa and Mangalia, both leaded by PSD mayors, Basescu turned out winner.
If at Constanţa, the difference was 7%, at Mangalia
Geoană suffered a crushing defeat, coming on second place at 28 percent distance from Basescu.
In return, the liberal town Medgidia placed first the PSD candidate, at 4.5% difference.
