Debt recovery by the state, companies or natural persons is a long and winding process, which consumes time, money and nerves many times, while the money not always reach the accounts, even if justice would give final sentences, and bailiffs would arrive at the debtor's door.
Copied after Western models or even branches of the big international corporations, companies were established in Romania, which deal with the very recovery and collection of debts. It seems that most contracts have been lately concluded by financial institutions, say representatives of the companies in this industry. The banks, and not only them, need specialised companies to recover from their customers, as quickly as possible, arrears that have increased very much over the past months. Thus, the companies in the market claim that the number of institutions that will appeal to their services will increase significantly next year.
Georg Kovács, the general manager of EOS KSI Romania, believes that 2010 will be a difficult year in all respects. ''We estimate that, in 2010, we will have more cases in the portfolio, as compared to the current year, but at the same time, we are concerned by the fact that the collection process will be more difficult, because of the problems the natural and the legal persons have (unemployment, lack of liquidity, very large decrease in asset values, drop of the volume of foreign direct investment). According to the market trends, we will most likely have more cases in banking, financial services, insurance and leasing, but also in utilities and other services,'' Georg Kovács told the Curierul Naţional.
At the same time, Isabela Iacob, general manager of KRUK International, says that a significant increase in the client portfolio is expected next year. We are currently under negotiations with seven new customers, most of them in banking, but also
