The Finance Ministry will present, during tomorrow's meeting, the normative act on the amendment of the "First Home" programme, so as to have it include three guarantee caps - 60,000, 70,000 and 75,000 euros depending on the type of home, says Finance minister Sebastian Vladescu.
"The normative act will be debated during the government meeting on Wednesday because we did not think a special meeting would be needed, even though theoretically the programme will be on hold for a few days," Vladescu told ZF.
He says the guarantee cap will remain 60,000 euros for old homes, and go up to 70,000 euros for new homes in case of individual purchase or construction and to 75,000 euros in case of multi-apartment construction projects for which loan applicants have partnered.
The deadline for signing pre-contracts for the initial version of the "First Home" programme expired yesterday.
Those who got to sign a pre-contract to buy a home until 15th of February may continue to finalise their loan application files, while banks that have not exhausted their guarantee caps may continue to forward them to the Loan Guarantee Fund for approval.
