Autonet, Romania's biggest car part importer, owned by Zoltan Kondor and Mihaly Lieb, has budgeted 10% higher sales for this year, from 102m euros in 2009. The company, founded in Satu Mare in 1996, has 27 warehouses nationwide, of which four in Bucharest, and plans to open further such facilities this year. "In 2009, growth stopped. We remained, as I believe most of the other major players did, at the level of 2008. The situation of last year resulted in falling prices, with the end buyer switching to the medium segment, while the premium segment went down," stated Zsolt Andrasy, general manager of Autonet. Judging from the growth targeted for this year, Autonet's turnover could climb to 112m euros. In 2009, the company did not cut any jobs, with the total number of employees unchanged at 700 persons. According to Autonet estimates, the market in 2009 contracted by around 10%, with small companies being the hardest hit.
