Michelin Romania tyre producer during last year replaced the largest part of its management team, bringing two French-born executives to the CEO and CFO positions. The first important change was the appointment of Stephane Roy de Lachaise as CEO, replacing Jean Marc Gebhart, who, according to Michelin representatives returned to France and is close to retiring. Lachaise, 43, has been working with Michelin since 2001 and since 2009 has run the operations of Michelin Romania, with turnover worth almost 400m euros in 2008 and around 4,000 employees, according to the latest data available. Michelin also replaced its CFO by bringing French-born Jean Michel Bardon, 49, a former CFO with Michelin Benelux, to replace Sorin Miron. The company started last year by halting production of its Romanian plants in January. Michelin manufactures tyres in Floresti and Zalau, where it also has a metallic cord plant.
