Agricola Bacau, the second-largest poultry producer after Transavia, increased the percentage of exports from 12% to almost 20% of its production in the first two months of this year and expects a 17% rise in RON-denominated turnover against last year.
"The analyses of Romanian's consumption behaviour conducted over the last few years indicate an increased preference for poultry, a cheaper alternative to pork or beef, for instance. So Agricola Bacau's strategy for this year is based on a reality: the poultry market is on the rise, both internationally, and in Romania, and our target is to use this opportunity to streamline operations of our poultry business line," said Grigore Horoi, chairman of Agricola Bacau group, the main local exporter of poultry.
That is why Agricola Bacau exported almost 20% of its production in the first two months of this year, by delivering to new clients in the UK, Greece, and Bulgaria, as well as boosting deliveries of frozen meat to older markets (Germany, the Netherlands, France etc).
