Efraim Naimer, one of the key-people in the field of insurance in the past ten years, targets gross underwritten premiums worth 5-6m euros for this year for his newly-acquired company, Clal Asigurari, which changed its name to Platinum Asigurari. He owns this company in partnership with Camelia Toma, the wife of Omniasig's general manager, Constantin Toma, through Vienna International Holdings, which also holds over 60% in SIRA fund manager. Naimer acquired the insurer in March 2009 paying 500,000 euros, after Clal Israeli group decided to exit the Romanian market after just two years as it no longer had funds to operate the necessary investments to develop the company. In the past ten years, Naimer has been almost permanently present on the insurance market, being one of the people who founded TBI Israeli fund. In 2009, Clal posted underwritten premiums worth 11m RON (2.6m euros) and a 9m RON (2.1m euros) loss. The insurer expects to make profit in 2010.
