Three potential clients for a new car were coming out of a "Dacia corner" of the Renault dealer in French city of Frejus, located at midpoint between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, on the French Riviera, the most expensive region of France.
Customers had a few Dacia pamphlets in their hands and their conversation revealed that they were talking about Duster, the cheapest SUV available on the European market.
Dacia is sold in France mainly through the Renault dealer network, where special corners for the Romanian brand have been prepared. According to the strategy for the near future, the carmaker intends to develop a network of monobrand dealers through the 100 showrooms already distributing Dacia in France.
"We are seeing good demand for Dacia, even better than I expected, which is why we are thinking of building an independent showroom for Dacia. We don't know when we will build it, but it will be located at equal distance from Frejus and two neighbouring cities, where we have Renault showrooms in order to attract neighbouring clients," said Jean Marc Jaume, Renault Frejus sales advisor.
Although it is not on display in showrooms, sales advisors say clients come every day asking about Duster and its commercial launch, and some of them have even bought one already.
