After 12 years at Microsoft, Dan Bulucea, the incumbent marketing and business director of the computer-maker’s office in Romania, decided to step down.
After a round of talks at the headquarter of the company, Bulucea made the official announcement on his departure from Microsoft on Wednesday on his Facebook page.
“After 12 years at Microsoft, after so many different roles, from sales to marketing, to promoting technology, to business management, from jobs in Romania to jobs in different countries, change is now a part of who I am and the desire to always do something new. Now the time has come for a new change, and this time, I decided to look outside the company. As of end-April, I will front a new challenge, and I am happy and anxious to see what it will offer me! Dan Bulucea”, the marketing and business director of world’s largest PC maker wrote.
Contacted by Wall-Street, Dan Bulucea said his departure, officially made public on Wednesday, was linked to a process that has begun several weeks earlier.
“I talked to the headquarters of the company and this week I made public my decision. As of August 1998, when I joined Microsoft Romania, I've been having different roles. But now, I feel the need to do something else, something new”, he said.
For the time being, Bulucea is considering several options and looks at multiple possibilities. Although he hadn’t made a decision on the path he would pursue onwards, he said he didn’t consider entrepreneurship, but didn’t rule it out completely either.
“I plan to remain in the IT sector, but I haven’t made a decision yet. I haven’t signed anything with anybody. My priority now is to pass on my responsibilities to my successor and make sure it will be an easy transition”, said the marketing director of Microsoft.
Dan Bulucea will remain in office until April 30.
