Automobile Dacia manufacturer reported a 2.1 billion-euro (9 billion-RON) turnover last year, up 18% in RON and 2.4% in euros, whilst the company's profit fell from 60 million euros to 54.3 million euros.
Dacia managed to increase its turnover per employee, but profitability fell to 4,276 euros/employee, which is the purchase price of a standard trim Logan with two scrappage bonuses included. In 2007, the year when Dacia hit a record-high 132 million-euro profit, profit per employee was 11,535 euros, a sum that can now buy a standard trim Duster with a few options added.
Last year automobile production amounted to 23.3 units/employee. The output of cars and utility vehicles amounted to 296,010 units, while the number of employees fell to 12,968, only 8,503 of whom are directly involved in the production process. "In 2009 the number of employees fell by 4.34%, with the decline being reflected in the category of production personnel (direct and indirect)," Dacia representatives said in the financial report.
