Fabrice Cambolive, commercial manager of Renault Automobile Dacia, stated he intended to see the new Renault Master model positioned among the top three models in terms of sales on the commercial vehicle market this year, meaning that the sales of the utility vehicle should double from the 418-unit level reached in 2009. In 2009, sales of utility vehicles of up to 3.5 tonnes contracted by over 60% to almost 14,000 units. The trend maintained in the first months of this year, with demand down 49% compared with same period of last year, and sales reached exactly 1,000 units on the entire market. "Master has to account for over half of the total sold Renault utility vehicles. The goal is to position Master among the top utility vehicles, but we cannot set a sales target as the market is still difficult to assess," stated Fabrice Cambolive. To drive sales, the brand importer also plans to open 10 Renault Pro Plus centres this year, specialised in commercial vehicle repair and maintenance.
