Developers have yet to resume work on the construction site of the Planorama residential complex in the Colentina district of Bucharest, where the first buyers should have moved three years ago in the over 1,000 apartments of the complex, despite having promised them four months ago that they would be able to move into the first building in May.
No buyer has received their apartment yet, although in November developers came up with a new addendum to the contract stipulating something along the lines of "Waive delay penalties and you will get your apartments in May'.
This goal is now almost impossible to attain given that the work required for the first building should last at least two months, and the transfer of the approximately 250 apartments to their owners could take several months, as well.
"The May deadline cannot be physically met, even if they started work tomorrow, because they have not done anything in this regard yet," says Florin Vasile, one of the buyers of an apartment in Planorama, who organised a group of about 200 clients of the complex to be able talk more effectively with the developers.
