Age is not a barrier in the way up to a management position, says Misu Negritoiu, 59, who is ING's CEO and joined the bank when he was 47, after having been minister and presidential advisor and made CEO at 55.
"Until 35 I had not held any management position. At 39, the Revolution came and I reinvented myself. Those who have not received a management position until 40 should not panic," Negritoiu said yesterday during the "Meet the CEO" monthly event organised by BUSINESS Magazin. I have 25 years of management expertise in positions where I've had two to one thousand people reporting to me."
Speaking about management experience, Negritoiu says that transparency and communication are the most important, because an executive cannot make decisions alone but only in cooperation with his team.
