Prime Minister Emil Boc again postponed a decisive debate on restructuring the institutions subordinated to ministries.
The ministers were granted three more weeks to come up with restructuring plans after having got two weeks for the same issue before Easter.
The government discussed the restructuring plans yesterday evening after on Monday night President Traian Basescu had accused the Cabinet of not cutting public spending and said the announced layoffs did not show in statistics.
At least three ministers will not even hear about restructuring. They are Radu Berceanu, Transport minister, Health minister Attila Cesk and Education minister Daniel Funeriu, who believe that as far as their respective fields are concerned, the restructuring has already been done, governmental sources say.
More than a year has passed since Government Boc No. 1 announced significant restructuring steps to adjust government spending to the harsh economic reality and six months since the Government decided to restructure some agencies via a normative act called "Law on Reorganisation of Public Authorities and Institutions, Rationing Spending, Support for Business and Compliance with Framework Agreements with the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund" (329/2009).
