Ipso Automobile, one of Renault-Dacia's oldest dealers and former importer, sold its business to Israeli Sixt New Kopel and Serus Renault-Nissan dealer. The Otopeni centre was taken over by Sixt New Kopel, in a deal worth almost 6m euros, and the Ploiesti dealer was taken over by Serus, the biggest Renault-Nissan dealer in Bucharest, with 22m-euro turnover, up from 21.5m euros in 2008, and income worth more than 2m euros, according to the company's officials. This is the first deal on the Romanian market where a company sells a car dealer, but also the first exit from the car market. Ipso's Otopeni centre was taken over by Sixt after the deal with Eurohold group failed. Ipso officials could not be contacted by edition close. "We'll officially take over Ipso Ploiesti dealer on May 3rd. Until now, we had only Renault and Nissan in our portfolio, and only Dacia service, but now, given the development of the brand and Duster launch, we also want to go into sales," stated Matache Rusea, who owns Serus together with his brother Adrian Rusea. The value of the deal was not revealed, but according to ZF estimates it has not gone beyond 2m euros. Serus will invest almost 3m euros in the construction of a new centre in Ploiesti.
