Thus, each employee brought Orbit producer average sales of around 23,000 euros and net profit of 3,000 euros per month, considering the average salary in large consumer goods companies is put at 500-750 euros. Wrigley does not hold production facilities domestically and largely outsourced distribution to specialised firms, which could explain the small number of employees it has in Romania against generated turnover. Despite the 39% lower income against 2008, the company last year maintained a profitability rate above the field's average, namely 15%. "Last year, the most important moves to retain profit margin were related to better cost management: the elimination of non-core operating expenses, bringing all expenses to the minimum that still allowed operation in normal parameters, delayed wage changes and media budget adjustment," explained Mihai Georgescu, general manager of Wrigley Romania.
