Andrei Haret, sales and distribution vice-president of Ursus Breweries, will take over as general manager of beer producer Dreher Breweries in Hungary, an 180 million-euro business with 700 employees, as of the beginning of July.
This will make him the youngest Romanian manager within Ursus Breweries to run a SABMiller subsidiary (Dreher Breweries) and the youngest general manager of a European company held by the African-American beer producer.
"I was offered this position about two weeks ago and I accepted because this promotion is in line with my professional development plans," Andrei Haret, 39, told Ziarul Financiar.
Haret will replace Gary Whitlie, 53, the Briton who, as of the beginning of June, will take over at the helm of Ursus Breweries less than two years after his appointment as general manager of Dreher Breweries.
Haret has been working for beer producer Ursus Breweries for seven years, during which he was vice-president of the finance and IT department, as well as vice-president of the sales and distribution department of Ursus Breweries (around four years). Over the last few months, Haret has been interim president of the producer of Timisoreana and Ursus, after Stephan Maria Weber left the position at the beginning of this year.
