Austrian group OMV, majority shareholder of Petrom, the biggest company on the Romanian market, will invest around 3 million euros to bring onto the Romanian market a new petrol stations concept dedicated mainly to commercial road transport companies. The fuelling stations will work under the name OMV Euro Truck, a concept launched as early as 2007 in Austria. At present there are 18 such stations on the European market, two of which are located in Romania, one in logistics park West Park, near Bucharest-Pitesti Motorway, and the other one on Autostrada Soarelui (Sun Motorway) in Lehliu.
"This year we will open another 1-2 fuelling stations, while next year we intend to have 6 such stations in Romania and 45 in European. On average, investment in such a petrol station amounts to 0.5 million euros," said Steen Frederiksen, manager of the commercial road transport division within OMV.
OMV representatives say such a petrol station reaches full capacity in five years' time, with the sales target being 10 million litres per year.
