Over 10,000 Ambulance Service employees in Romania will go on strike on Monday, May 31, over an unlimited period, the National Union "Ambulance" Federation Executive Office announced, quoted by Romanian news agency Mediafax. The union noted that the protest will not affect the emergency medical activity.
"The National Union "Ambulance" Federation decided that starting with May 31, 2010, 10 o'clock, it will start the National Protest over an unlimited period, which will take place according to a well-defined plan, which has been communicated to all union organisations in the Ambulance Public services and the Health Ministry" a communiqué shows.
Over 10,000 Ambulance Service staff will take part in the protest.
Protests' schedule:
Monday, May 31, there will be rallies in the central station of every ambulance service, starting 10 am. The sirens will go on for three minutes. The ambulance emergency light systems will be on for the entire protest;Monday, May 31, 10-11 am, county protests will be staged in the central ambulance station courtyards and in front of city prefectures;starting June 1, 12pm to 2 pm, county rallies will be organised in front of city prefectures;the protest will take place in ten county residence cities at a time, in alphabetical order: - June 1: Alba, Arad, Arges, Bacau, Bihor, Bistrita-Nasaud, Botosani, Brasov, Braila, Buzau;
- June 2: Caras-Severin, Calarasi, Cluj, Constanta, Covasna, Dambovita, Dolj, Galati, Giurgiu, Gorj;
- June 3: Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomita, Iasi, Maramures, Mehedinti, Mures, Neamt, Olt, Prahova;
- June 4: Satu Mare, Salaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timis, Tulcea, Vaslui, Valcea, Vrancea
