The business of instant payment terminals - where one can pay utility bills and buy train or coach tickets is rapidly gaining ground in Romania.
One of the players on this market is ZebraPay, which currently has 60 such terminals installed throughout the country The company wants the number of its terminals to reach 1,000 by the end of this year and almost 8,000 in five years. The 60 payment terminals were installed in Bucharest, Brasov, Constanta, Cluj, Ploiesti and Iasi, in underground stations, supermarkets, malls and universities, such as the Romanian-American University. ZebraPay expects to make 20 million-euro turnover this year, which are actually the amounts processed via its terminals for payment of various services and 420 million euros over the next five years.
