After Russia, Belarus, Cyprus and Bosnia Herzegovina, Romania is fifth in Europe with lowest fuel prices
Of 38 European states, Romania is fifth in a top of lowest premium gas prices, with a price of 1.07 Euro per liter, according to German association ACE Auto Club Europa. The European average is 1.25 Euro per liter.
Gas has its lowest price in Russia, of 0.81 Euro/liter, and continues, in order, with Belarus - 0.82 euro, Cyprus - 0.9 Euro, Bosnia Herzegovina - 1.04 and Romania - 1.07 Euro.
The top ten of states with cheapest gas prices also includes Latvia- 1.09 Euro, Serbia - 1.1 Euro, Bulgaria - 1.12 euro, Lichtenstein - 1.12 euro and Malta - 1.12 Euro. Hungary is 20th, with a cost per liter of 1.21 Euro.
At the other end of the top, the states with the highest prices are Turkey, with 1.88 Euro per liter, Norway - 1.71 Euro, Netherlands - 1.56 Euro, Denmark - 1.55 Euro, Great Britain - 1.48 Euro, Greece - 1.45 Euro, Sweden - 1.43 Euro, Finland - 1.43 Euro, Germany - 1.43 Euro and Portugal - 1.4 Euro.
In Romania, OMV Petrom has made five announcements of fuel price increases and two of fuel price decreases, while its competitor Rompetrol has increased prices twice and reduced it four times since the beginning of the year. (A.B.)
