The average cost of an interior decoration project is 200-300 euros/square metre, with luxury projects costing as much as 1,000 euros/square metre, and architects' fees accounting for 5-15% of the investment. Architects say Romanians tend to come prepared, gathering their information either from specialised magazines, or from international interior design fairs. Unlike Europeans, who prefer as simple a design as possible, Romanians appear to be more inclined towards opulence, even if it is not representative of their lifestyle.
