Romanians spend around 100-150m euros on sports bets, a market where there's an agency per 7,500 inhabitants, compared with Croatia, which has 2,000 agencies against a fourfold smaller population, cashing in around 500m euros from bets. Around 1,500 private betting agencies operated by 14 companies holding licences for this type of activity are active on the market.
