Italian-held energy group Enel continues its offensive on the wind project market, signing an agreement with a Constanţa-based company to develop a 272-MW wind farm in Dobrogea, with the investment expected to exceed 400 million euros.
The company currently developing the 272 MW project, which will be located around 30 kilometres off the Black Sea coast, is Elcomex Eol, part of the Elcomex group, held by Constanţa businessman Ion Grecu. According to the Constanţa press, Grecu is one of the wealthiest businesspeople in the Romanian seacoast area, who enjoys extensive political support, with his group of firms being involved in various activities in the energy sector that range from electricity trading to works carried out at the Cernavodă nuclear plant.
